Knowledge Engineering

Management Sciences understands that solving difficult, expensive, high value problems is not as simple as buying leading edge hardware and software and then naively waiting for results.  Knowledge engineering is the process of exploring a problem with a customer, and then planning a value added solution together with the customer.   MSI captures the customer’s intimate familiarity with the problem domain and merges it with our problem solving techniques to find a cost effective application solution that addresses each customer’s unique needs.  MSI engineers use our proprietary AI technologies to develop a suite of products that mimic the way humans anticipate, learn, adapt and take action in real time.

Software Design & Development

Our staff has demonstrated world class leadership in developing software with capabilities far beyond its rivals.  The software development process at MSI follows the systems engineering with the application of Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools that model and document an architecture that meets the customer requirements as defined in the system engineering activity.   The architecture is then translated to software using a combination of components, reuse, and custom software to achieve a cost effective solution.

Innovative Research

MSI research focuses on technology for embedded sensing and reasoning.  MSI has over ten years experience in the field of Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) automation with a focus on condition-based maintenance for propulsion systems.  We have demonstrated signal processing algorithms that provide real time analysis of operating equipment signatures to determine operating health and condition. In addition, MSI has designed autonomous control system algorithms to reason and react to health risks, extending system life by reducing operational stresses and mitigating environmental threats. MSI research has resulted in a number of proprietary Real Time Artificial Intelligence (RT-AI) algorithms for prognostic condition assessment, maintenance decision support, and system life extension.

Systems Engineering

The engineering process at MSI begins with a formal system engineering process that maps customer needs and requirements to product specifications.  Our engineers are equipped with computer aided design tools and laboratory equipment that let them quickly create prototypes and mature them into products.
